Date Change!

So do some scheduling conflicts and the opportunity to make use of a three day weekend at the school, our committee has decided to change the date of the celebration to September 16^th and 17^th and then still have a float in Fruita Fall Festival on September 24^th.

 

Here is a rough plan:

 

September 16^th – Carnival, Silent Auction, Memorabilia/History Room

September 17^th – Brunch for Alumni and anyone connected with Appleton High School

                 2:00  - Celebration for Everyone connected to Appleton, along with a cake, punch reception

Week of September 20^th – Alumni Visits to classes

September 23^rd – Float Prep

September 24^th – Fruita Fall Festival Parade – Huge participation requested, please!!!!

 

 

Blog Update

    For those of you trying to enter a blog or post a message, I believe you need to enter a comment down below.  Also, at the end of this page, is now an area to type in your name, years associated with Appleton or how associated.  I would love to start seeing people's names show up who are planning on attending! 
    Plans are still being finalized, but it looks like we will also have our community carnival and some form of a prepaid lunch available along with the actual recognition of Appleton and its history!

Lewie Nelson passed away about Mar 18 (John called Saturday) Don`t know if anyone will send obit to GJ paper He was in nursing home, so is Clara--their daughter Patsy looks after their affairs but I don`t have an address, without Mary Lou`s assistance I don`t have any other contacts--perhaps someone else in Appleton group will know lots more than I!!

Appleton Elementary is excited to celebrate their 100th year anniversary this year.  The celebration will take place September 23 and 24, 2011 at the school.  Details will be coming soon regarding the schedule of events.

Currently, we are accepting recipes and your memories of your years at Appleton to be included in a cookbook/memory book that is being put together.  We would like all materials by April 30th.  Please send to the school c/o Appleton PTA, Appleton Elementary, 2358 H Road, Grand Junction, CO  81505
